Fragments, figures

Fragments, figures is a ten years retrospective of my paintings and exposes the presence of the photographic medium in my work. The show explores the relationship between painting and photography in my work through different series of paintings : the Sky and Road series, the American Landscapes, the Enterprise of Solitude, the Interiors and Planet 15-M. Basic material for hyperrealist paintings or source for complex collages, photography has always been at the center of my work. Here it is an almost arbitrary snapshot, here a digital montage, there a long photo shoot with a model : photography imprints painting with all its different syntaxes. A catalog accompanies the show in which a discussion with art historian Serge Allaire expands on these ideas.
