Painted between 2014 and 2018, these gray and white portraits come from a reflection on masks and identity. These images with tense bodies and hidden faces are inspired by the notion of Eternal Return from the philosopher Nietzsche, interpreted as a challenge of self-invention.

The nudity, the theatrical attitudes of the bodies, the contrast between the colored matter and the imprecision of the grisailles are arranged to evoke this malleable material which is the human psyche.
